Joshua Rego's scribe: Textbook pg 142-143

This is my scribe post on the textbook on pages 142-143.

6.a) 5% of 520
       8
5/8 = 0.625  of 250 = 156
            1
b) 75 2% of 200
         5
2/5 = 0.4
           1
75.4% of 200 = 3

c) 250% of $76.50
100%     =       76.50
100%     =       76.50
50%       =       35.25
250%     =   $188.25

10. When water frezzes, it's volume increases by 10%.

a) By how much does the volume of 750 mL of water increase when it frezzes?
750 / 100 = 75%

b) 750 + 75= 825

14. 4% of 100 is the same as 8% of what number? Explain how you arrived at your answer.

4% of 100    4 x 2 = 8    100 x 2 = 200    So,  8% of 200
1% =  1                                                           2% = 1
1% =  1                                                           2% = 1
1% =  1                                                           2% = 1
1% =  1                                                           2% = 1
4% =  4                                                           8% = 4

Thanks for reading my post!

  1. Hey Josh! Good job on your scribe post. It's very informative and helpful. Although, you forgot to add a video and a link. It could've been more effective. Also, the solutions could've been clearer if you put it in paint and do it that way, but I guess typing it in works, too. Lastly, you should add some colors to make it stand out. Although, I really like how you showed us how you got the answer. Good job! However, you should add those things next time to make it more effective. Great scribe post though! Keep up the hard work!

  9. Hi Josh, great job on your scribe post! Your answers were very well explained. To make your post even better, I think you should add pictures and some color to your post. On question 6a, I think the answer should be 3.25 instead of 156. Before even calculating the answer, you know that 1% of 520 is 5.20, so 5/8% of 520 have to less than 5.20. I think you should recheck your calculations. I also think you should check over questions 6b, and 6c. For number 14 I think the answer should be 50 not 200. 4% of 100 is 4 and 8% of 50 is 4. 8% of 200 is 16 and 16 is not the same as 4. But other than that, I think you did a good job. I saw that you didn't have a link or a video, so here's a link and video I think you may want to add:

  10. Good job Josh, I liked how you explained your your thinking which helped a lot, but you should have made a bit more clearer so I could understand more. Also you should try adding some color to make it stand out, also you should try adding some pictures, and also adding a video. But other then that Great job on your scribe post.

  12. Nice post Josh! Your post is exactly what I need to answer some questions. They are all clear and they are easy to understand except for number 10, you might wanna explain that more. You might want to add pictures, video, and a link next time to help us go to the next level about this topic. Still, good job and thank you!
