Part 1
“You see, I do something real good for three people. And then when they ask how they can pay it back, I say they have to pay it forward….. To three more people. Each. So, nine people get helped. Then those people have to do twenty-seven.” He turned on the calculator, punched in a few numbers. “Then it sort of spreads out, see, to eighty-one, then two hundred forty-three, then seven hundred twenty-nine, then two thousand, one hundred eighty-seven. See how big it gets?”
What is "pay it forward?" "Pay it Forward" is when one person can make a difference, by doing something nice for someone in need. Then you ask that person to do something nice for someone else and after it will hopefully keep going on.
Part 2
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
My Pay it Forward act of kindness was making goodie bags and giving them to the children at the children's hospital. Did you know that every day there is at least one kid that gets treated for cancer?
Why did you choose this activity?
I chose this activity because I wanted to make the children at the children's hospital more happy by giving them toys to play with because they don't deserve to be there but we can't help that, these things just happen.
Who did you help?
I helped children because now they won't be so upset about being in the hospital because they now know that people care about them and respect them by donating toys or even money to them.
What did you do?
I made goodie bags that was filled with toys for the children at the children's hospital.
When did you do you act of kindness?
I did my act of kindness on Monday, November 14, 2011 @ 8:00 AM.
Part 3
How did your act of kindness go?
My act of kindness I think went pretty well and I liked doing this act of kindness because I love being with kids and helping them. It was also very fun to do.
What Happened?
Me and my friends made goodie bags for the children at the children's hospital and while we were doing that we took pictures to put in our scrapbook and in our video. In the end we went to the children's hospital and gave the lady from the front desk of the children's hospital the goodie bags. We couldn't give it to the children in person because they needed their privacy.
How did you feel?
I felt excited at first when I first found out that we had to do a "pay it forward" project and the first thing that came to my head was to do something for the children. After when I actually started doing the work it was really fun but at the same time sad knowing that there are a lot of children with medical conditions.
How did the person or people react? The lady from the front desk was very happy that we made goodie bags for the children and thrilled when she saw how many bags we actually made and brought. She was also very happy about how many grade 8 students from Sargent park actually came and brought stuff to.
Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"? Yes, I did ask the lady to "pay it forward" and she said she will because she wanted to see the "pay it forward" move around the world and making other people's lives better.
How did they react to your request? They were thrilled with us giving goodie bags to them and surprised on how many we actually made and brought for the children.
Part 4
Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important? The idea of "pay it forward" is important because not only in our community but around the world people notice that when you "pay it forward" it makes a difference to someones life. When you "pay it forward" to 3 people you change their life some how and those 3 people will do the same. It also is important because anyone can make a difference in the world and make someones life better. Doing this also lets others know that there is a lot of people around the world that suffer with their lives.
Has your act of kindness made a difference? I think my act of kindness has made a difference because now the children will always have something to do and play with. Because none of those children deserve to be there.
Here is the link to the children's hospital in case if one of you would like to donate to the children too.
I hope you like what me and my friends did for "pay it forward" and I hope you will help donate to the children at the children's hospital because no one deserves to be at a hospital and miss out on what life has to offer.
WOW! Great job you guys!!
ReplyDeleteI thought your act of kindness was really great because you guys are really giving the children a second chance to life! My group also did this act of kindness haha!
But I really liked how you added more than just toys in your goody bags, you added notepads and pencils so that they could also experience being at school!
Well, really well done Alyshia! and to your group too! (:
Hey Alyshia (: Your group must have worked the whole day. I like how you guys were creative about what to put in the goodie bags. Origami, toys, etc.. Now those children are happy in the hospital because of what your group did. I like how your text is skittle colors. Great job with the video and the post, Alyshia.
ReplyDeleteHi Alyshia! Your Pay It Forward project is very well done! You, Diana, Irena and Serena seemed to put a lot of effort into this project! I'm sure your group definitely put great big smiles in the children's faces! I like the fact that they were very happy to see so many grade 8 students from Sargent park who brought gifts for the children! I also like her respond when you told her to "Pay It Forward". The scrapbooks you made for the children are very creative, and so were the goody bags! The video is great! You, Diana, Irena, and Serena really made a difference! Great job to all of you!! (:
