task 1

Proportion-An equation that says that two ratios or two rates are equal

5 hours to travel 360 miles is about 72mph





As a playgroup worker, if I increase the amount of apple juice I am serving at the playgroup from 25 ml to 100 ml, how much should I increase the the orange juice to, to keep the quantities in the same proportion? The orange juice is 50 ml to start with.
Answer: 200 ml

What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?3/4 = 12/16 Answers:


horizontal:you multiply 3 by 4 and you get 12 and multiply 4 by 4 to get 16


vertical


diagno:when you multiply 3 by 16 you get 48 and multiply 4 by 16 equals to 20

1. Does it seem Fair?
No its not fair.
2.With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above. Does it seem just and fair? Why have you made this choice?I dont think it's fair because the guy that stole $3 billion let him go to jail for 3 yrs and the other guy who stole 100 get to go in jail for 15 years
3.What would you have done if you were the judge? The man that stole $3 Billion will go to jail for 15 years and the man who stole $100 and surendered himself will go to jail for less than a year
